Got feedback from a lot of shareholders on our next move and we have five possible options.
I got a little busy so we're rushed on this one! Apologies, but we did have some discussion on Slack about it.
They moves Nxd4 and took our pawn, as expected.
A. Nf6 (Knight to f6)
B. Nc6 (Knight to c6)
C. Qa5 (Queen to a5)
D. e5 (Pawn to e5)
Slack comments indicate that A) Nf6 is the "book move." Now that the d pawn is advancing they can't push on us.
Please vote and leave comments on your thinking!
Remember that scene in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back when the rebels are fleeing Hoth and Captain Lennox says, "Good, our first catch of the day."? Here is a clip to remind you, bit today, we are the EMPIRE!
So, White moved pawn to d4 (marked in yellow).
Early chatter on the #proj-chess_lab Slack channel (sign up here) is that the best move is cxd4*
I've included a few other ideas, but they are maybe all bad. Let's talk about what we think White will do, and how we might respond in the comments.
*I'm still learning chess notation! Apparently when you indicate the move of a pawn you don't need to specify a piece (like Pcxd4), because if no piece is indicated, that means it is a pawn. Also, the use of an "x" indicates a capture (OUR FIRST CATCH OF THE DAY!).
We opened with the Sicilian (i'm still learning openings) and White has responded with Nf3 (marked in yellow on the board).
We want to control the middle. That is what I've been told, so here are some options...
The game has started! We are playing black and white's first move is e4.
What should we do in response?

I'd like to experiment with how the shareholders can play a game of chess. Using the Chess.com app I'll engage an opponent and post possible moves for shareholders to vote on. Can the collective intelligence of the shareholders lead me to victory?
